Periodontal condition of the gums is a bacterial infection that can harm the teeth irreversibly unless the right treatment is performed. The word “periodontal” means, literally,”around the tooth”. As this condition is caused by a bacteria that injures the gums and the bone structure underneath, it requires early phase intervention. The treatment consists in the removal of bacterial plaque from the gingival sulcus and the dental wall, with the purpose of keeping gums healthy.
