The Centre for Health Technology and Disability National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI) developed with other states and private organizations an innovative dental implant system of very low cost and easy installation.
This is a dental implant in one piece, called "miniball" which holds the lower complete dentures and in most cases is placed manually. The new development will attend a diagnosis that affects more than three million elderly and also many young: the loss of teeth.
The system consists of prosthesis with four insert cavities in the heads of the anterior implants, an operation that is done by hand and that allows you to place and remove the prosthesis without effort, ensuring proper retention.
The installation takes less than 40 minutes, requires no surgery and in one session the patient is removed with the implants and fixed prostheses. Some of the advantages are the low cost of the implants and the speed of the procedure, which represent significant savings in money and patient’s time at the dentist.
